birdfont software package provides font editor that lets you create outline vector graphics and export fonts, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install birdfont
birdfont is installed in your system.
Make ensure the birdfont package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep birdfont *
You will get with birdfont package name, version, architecture and description in a table
